From the Pampas, to Skärgården.

At Scaparros, food is more than just a meal; it’s a tradition and a way of life passed down through generations. Rooted in an Argentinian-Italian family, the importance of food and its power to bring people together has always been central to us.

In search of new opportunities, our family moved to Sweden in the early 90s, a time when Stockholm was just beginning to experience the effects of globalization. Dining out was rare, reserved for special occasions, and the culinary choices were limited.

Driven by determination and a love for authentic food, our family opened Sweden’s first fresh pasta factory, Al Dente. It introduced a variety of fresh pastas like ravioli, cannelloni, and spinach pasta, filling the city streets with the rich aromas of handmade dough. The factory became known for warming hearts and satisfying appetites with quality, artisanal pasta.

Food has always been a central part of our family’s life. Every evening, we gathered around the table to share stories over freshly baked bread, homemade pasta from the factory, or a late-night pizza. These moments of connection and joy are what we strive to bring into every home—because for us, food is not just about eating; it’s about creating lasting memories with those we care about, one meal at a time.

Al Dente quickly became a second home for our family. We spent countless hours there, sorting tortellini and preparing deliveries, while the factory buzzed with life. As the business grew, our grandmother joined us from Argentina to help care for the family. A skilled chef, she brought with her generations of culinary knowledge and filled our home with warmth and the most incredible flavors, shaping our approach to food.

Her kitchen became a space for learning and sharing, and combined with our father's unwavering commitment to quality, these experiences helped shape the foundation of Scaparros. Today, we continue this family tradition, offering products that help create meals that bring people together, just as they have for us.
